Our motto is "start a career in less than a year" and the mission is to deliver flexible, accessible and affordable workforce training that is responsive to the dynamic needs of business and industry and service Alaska's diverse communities. The mission is realized through our day to day operations where staff and instructors collaborate to ensure the success of AVTEC students in completing training and securing employment post training.

As a member of the staff at a division of the State of Alaska, you are employed by the State of Alaska and as such are offered paid leave accrual, retirement and health benefits. The nature of the calendar year at AVTEC provides opportunity to travel to remote locations to bring training to Alaskans. You and your dependents have access to AVTEC recreational facilities and AVTEC tuition waivers are available for your dependents for training.
The Working Environment You Can Expect:
AVTEC is located in Seward, a small and friendly community situated at the head of Resurrection Bay, surrounded by mountains. Amenities like coffee shops, retail stores, and restaurants are all within walking distance from any AVTEC campus and beautiful nature trails and a great walking/bike path is just steps away from the office door.
