Opportunity to be a Workshop Manager responsible for the overall maintenance of 11 Ship Handling Manned Models and supporting infrastructure

Who we are:

As part of Warsash Maritime School we deliver world standard commercial training to Marine Pilots and Ship’s Officers. We are based at Timsbury Lake, near Romsey, Hampshire.

Staffed by three permanent staff and supported by specialist technicians and Associate Lecturers we deliver courses March to November and carry out annual maintenance December to February.

Our Vacancy:

We have a vacancy for a Workshop Maintenance Manager with the official title of “Technician Instructor (Manned Model Ship Handling).” To manage a substantive and well-equipped repair and maintenance workshop.

To prepare Manned Models for use.

To maintain and undertake a planned maintenance system for the Manned Models and lake infrastructure.

To respond to urgent defects and, where possible, repair.

The successful candidate:

You don’t have to be experienced in Manned Model Ship Handling – first and foremost we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team member. Knowledge of electrics or carpentry and general fault finding is desirable.

• Comfortable working alone and as part of a team.
• Occasional work at weekends and bank holidays is required with appropriate compensation.
• Some delegate instruction may be required, but full training will be given.
